My Daughter's Baby Shoe

My Daughter's Baby Shoe/EDM Challenge #1

The first challenge on the road to recovering my creative self was to draw a shoe. Since it happened to be my daughter’s birthday, I dug out and drew her baby shoe (she was amazed I kept it but pleased there were little lions on the side because she loves animals). This actually took several nights to draw since I had some trouble getting it to look shoe-like. There’s an unfortunate wrinkle on the page which is what the light stripe is.

Work in Progress

Seated Woman

Heard somewhere that if you draw a thousand circles, you’ll learn how to draw a circle. Playing with that idea has lead me in some interesting directions … here’s one of them. Its not finished yet and I’ll post the final version once its done. Clearly I have some work to do learning how to photograph my work for the blog as well.

About Me

I'm not a princess and the knight in shining armor isn't coming. If my creative self is going to be rescued, I'm going to have to do it myself. As Alan Alda once said, "You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you'll discover will be wonderful. What you'll discover is yourself."
