Finding one’s creative voice is not an easy process. The journey between understanding what needs to be done and actually doing the work is difficult, sometimes downright scary. There are many, many reasons not to pursue this. Lots of chores that need doing. And yet, here I am. Pursuing my oldest dream.
I have said before that as a child, I was sold a bill of goods. On some deeply buried level, I think I really was waiting for that knight in shining armor to come rescue me from my life. While I was waiting, I became very good at helping others realize their dreams. I gave 100%. Sometimes more. One of the most profound realizations of my adult life has been the understanding that the knight isn’t coming. That all of the people I’ve helped, gone out of my way for, are not going to return the favor.
Rescue is not on its way. And the the bottom line is, if I want to be rescued, I need to be my own knight. There is no one else. So, its time to get busy. That’s what this blog is about. Everything here is my work, presented, warts and all.
